Secretarial ComplianceThe Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX), on July 23, 2026, announced the imposition of an Event-Based Additional Surveillance Margin (E-ASM) on Cardamom contracts. The decision has been taken in accordance with the Exchange's surveillance framework and based on the high-low price variation observed in the commodity. [Circular No. MCX/S&I/429/2026]

With effect from the beginning of trading on July 24, 2026, an E-ASM of 2.50% will be applicable to all running and yet-to-be-launched Cardamom contracts. The additional margin will remain in force until August 13, 2026, unless modified or withdrawn by the Exchange.

The surveillance measure is intended to strengthen risk management and curb excessive market volatility. Members are advised to take note of the additional margin requirement and ensure adequate compliance while trading in Cardamom contracts.
