Labour ComplianceThe Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) on July 27, 2026, issued an Advisory and Electrical Safety Checklist to Prevent Fire Incidents from Electrical Short Circuits.

The following has been stated:-

•The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has circulated the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) advisory dated May 20, 2026, directing all ESIC hospitals to ensure the safe operation of electrical installations to prevent fire incidents caused by electrical short circuits. 

•ESIC has introduced an Electrical Safety Checklist (Appendix-A) covering manpower competency, electrical infrastructure, fire safety, emergency preparedness, cabling, protective devices, and statutory compliance for hospital inspections. 

•All ESIC hospitals have been instructed to conduct a self-assessment of their electrical installations within their respective jurisdictions and take necessary corrective actions in line with the CEA advisory. 

•Regional engineering officers and zonal authorities have been directed to ensure strict compliance, monitor implementation, and review electrical installations to enhance safety and regulatory compliance.
