The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on July 27, 2026, issued Draft (Securitisation Transactions) Amendment Directions.
These drafts are issued to enhance efficiency, liquidity, and transparency in the issuance and transfer of Securitisation Notes (SNs). The proposed amendments cover multiple regulated entities, including commercial banks, small finance banks, non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), and All India Financial Institutions (AIFIs).
The draft directions aim to streamline securitisation transactions across these sectors by introducing uniform improvements in regulatory frameworks governing SNs. These changes are expected to facilitate better market functioning and improve investor confidence.
The RBI has invited public and stakeholder comments on the draft guidelines, with a deadline of August 27, 2026. Feedback can be submitted via the ‘Connect2Regulate’ section on the RBI website or sent directly to the RBI’s Department of Regulation, Central Office, Mumbai, through post or email.
