The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (MoAFW) on July 28, 2026, has drafted the Pesticides Management Bill, 2026 to replace the existing regulatory framework in line with current requirements and the Jan Vishwas Act.
The following has been stated:
The draft Bill was circulated to Ministries, State/UT Governments on December 30, 2025 and placed in the public domain on January 07, 2026 for stakeholder feedback. The Government received extensive suggestions from States/UTs, Ministries, pesticide manufacturers, dealers, farmers, NGOs, and other stakeholders on various aspects of pesticide management and regulation, including data protection, which are being considered in finalizing the Bill.
