The UT Administration of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu on July 20, 2026, issued the Draft Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Rules, 2026.
The following has been stated: -
•It consolidates and replaces multiple older regional factory, contract labor, and worker welfare rules to align with the central OSH Code, 2020.
•It details mandatory online registration for establishments, fee schedules, and qualifications required to certify "competent persons" for structural and machinery safety.
•The rules mandate free annual medical exams for workers, mandatory written appointment letters, setting up Safety Committees, and strict 12-to-24-hour reporting windows for accidents.
Objections and suggestions, if any, may be submitted within 45 days.
