The Government of Madhya Pradesh on July 21, 2026, issued the Madhya Pradesh Code on Empowering Workspaces (Shram Shakti Sanhita) 2026.
The following has been stated: -
•The Madhya Pradesh Code on Empowering Workspaces (Shram Shakti Sanhita) 2026 consolidates and codifies six state labour enactments to modernize employer-employee relations and align with Central Labour Codes.
•It introduces a simplified, one-time lifetime registration process for establishments via a designated electronic platform, eliminating periodic renewals.
•The Code sets comprehensive guidelines covering wages, working hours, overtime, leave, employment safety for women, and strict prohibitions against coercive workplace practices.
•Additionally, it provides a tailored safety framework for small workplaces with under ten employees and regulates social security through dedicated Organized and Unorganized Workers' Welfare Boards.
•Finally, it streamlines enforcement using Inspector-cum-Facilitators, graded penalties with compliance notices, compounding mechanisms, and the adoption of the Industrial Relations Code, 2020.
