The Government of Madhya Pradesh on July 23, 2026, issued the Madhya Pradesh Panchayat Raj Avam Gram Swaraj (Sanshodhan) Bill, 2026, further to amend the Madhya Pradesh Panchayat Raj Avam Gram Swaraj Adhiniyam, 1993.
The following has been amended, namely:
• In section 75 (1), at the end of the proviso, for full stop, colon shall be substituted, and thereafter the following proviso shall be added, namely:-
"Provided further that the State Government may, by notification, exempt any instrument, upon which additional stamp duty is leviable under this section, in addition to the duty imposed under the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, from the levy of such additional stamp duty."
• The Madhya Pradesh Panchayat Raj and Gram Swaraj (Sanshodhan) Adhyadesh, 2026 (No. 1 of 2026) is hereby repealed.
