NSE issued a circular regarding a mock trading session for the introduction of the Closing Auction Session (CAS) in the Equity Cash segment
The National Stock Exchange (NSE), on July 30, 2026, has announced a mock trading session for the Capital Market segment on Saturday, August 01, 2026, in preparation for the live implementation of the Closing Auction Session (CAS) in the Equity Cash segment from August 03, 2026. The Exchange will also introduce NEAT+ Version 7.8.9 for the new trading modalities.
The following has been stated: -
• The Closing Auction Session (CAS) in the Equity Cash segment will go live from August 03, 2026, and members are advised to participate in the mock trading session on August 01, 2026 to familiarize themselves with the new trading process.
• A new NEAT+ Version 7.8.9 will be introduced for CAS-related changes and should be used from August 01, 2026. The existing NEAT+ Version 7.8.8 will be discontinued after the mock scheduled on September 05, 2026.
• The mock trading session will be conducted in three phases across the Primary Site and Disaster Recovery (DR) Site, covering pre-open, normal market, T+0 market, auction market, and the newly introduced Closing Auction Session (CAS).
• Members are required to download and load the updated master files generated by the Exchange before the mock trading session to ensure system readiness.
• Members are advised to actively participate in all mock trading sessions and refer to the annexures for operational instructions, participation guidelines, and DR site procedures.
