The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on July 31, 2026, notified regarding the Lending and Deposit Rates of Scheduled Commercial Banks – July 2026.
The following has been stated namely:
• RBI has released data on the lending and deposit rates of Scheduled Commercial Banks (SCBs) (excluding Regional Rural Banks and Small Finance Banks) for July 2026. The Weighted Average Lending Rate (WALR) on fresh rupee loans increased slightly to 8.53% in June 2026, while the WALR on outstanding rupee loans declined marginally to 8.96%. The 1-year median Marginal Cost of Funds based Lending Rate (MCLR) rose to 8.60% in July 2026.
• On the deposit side, the Weighted Average Domestic Term Deposit Rate (WADTDR) on fresh rupee term deposits increased to 5.99%, and the rate on outstanding term deposits edged up to 6.58% in June 2026.
