Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on July 31, 2026, issued the Consolidated Supervisory Directions.

The following has been stated:

• RBI has issued 64 consolidated Master Directions administered by the Department of Supervision, replacing and consolidating 628 existing circulars, Master Circulars, and Master Directions to simplify the regulatory framework and reduce compliance costs. The Master Directions are organised across up to nine functional areas and issued separately for 11 categories of regulated entities, including commercial banks, co-operative banks, NBFCs, payment banks, regional rural banks, asset reconstruction companies, and credit information companies. 

• The final Directions have been issued after considering stakeholder feedback received during the public consultation process and will serve as the single authoritative repository of supervisory instructions available under the Department of Supervision section on the RBI website.
