Industry Specific ComplianceThe Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on July 31, 2026, issued extension of timelines with respect to compliance of Digital Accessibility Circulars.

SEBI has issued a circular regarding compliance with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 by all Regulated Entities (REs), particularly in relation to accessibility requirements for digital platforms. The circular follows representations received from REs seeking additional time to comply with earlier directives.

After reviewing the requests and the current status of compliance, SEBI has granted an extension of timeline until October 31, 2026 for conducting accessibility audits of digital platforms and implementing necessary remediation based on audit findings. This extension is intended to facilitate proper adherence to accessibility standards.

All other provisions of the earlier SEBI circulars remain unchanged and must continue to be complied with by REs. The circular has been issued under Section 11(1) of the SEBI Act, 1992, with the objective of protecting investor interests and ensuring inclusive and accessible participation in the securities market.
