Secretarial ComplianceThe National Stock Exchange (NSE) on July 31, 2026, issued circular on Transaction charges for Electronic Gold Receipts (EGRs).

The Exchange has announced the launch of the Electronic Gold Receipts (EGRs) segment, which will become operational from May 4, 2026. This segment enables trading in electronic gold receipts, providing investors with a regulated and efficient platform to deal in gold in a dematerialized form.

To promote participation and build liquidity in this newly introduced segment, the Exchange has introduced an incentive for market participants. Specifically, it has decided to waive all transaction charges on trades executed in the EGR segment.

This waiver will be applicable for a limited period, starting from the launch date and continuing until November 3, 2026. The move is aimed at encouraging early adoption, increasing trading activity, and familiarizing investors with the EGR framework.

Overall, the initiative is expected to boost interest in electronic gold trading by reducing initial cost barriers and supporting the development of a robust market ecosystem for EGRs.
