Labour ComplianceThe Office of the Labour Commissioner, Maharashtra, on August 5, 2026, notified the revised minimum wages (Basic Minimum Wage plus Special Allowance/Variable Dearness Allowance) applicable for the period July 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026 under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948. The notification prescribes revised monthly wage rates for workers employed in various scheduled employments across Circle I, Circle II, and Circle III, based on the category of work such as skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled. 

The revised rates have been determined by adding the applicable Special Allowance (Variable Dearness Allowance) to the prescribed Basic Minimum Wage. For example, in Circle I, employees in the Advocates/Lawyers' Offices and Bombay High Court Bar Association establishments are entitled to a total monthly minimum wage of ₹20,052 (Skilled), ₹18,582 (Semi-skilled) and ₹17,527 (Unskilled). Similarly, revised wage rates have been notified for several scheduled employments, including motor repair workshops, bakery industry, cotton ginning and pressing industry, textile dyeing and printing industry, and other scheduled sectors. 

Employers covered under the notified scheduled employments are required to ensure payment of wages not lower than the revised minimum wages with effect from July 1, 2026. The revised rates will remain in force until December 31, 2026, unless modified earlier by the competent authority.
