The Government of Maharashtra on July 24, 2026, notified the Maharashtra Minor Mineral Extraction (Development and Regulation) (Amendment) Rules, 2026, amending the Maharashtra Minor Mineral Extraction (Development and Regulation) Rules, 2013.
The following has been stated: -
•A new term, "Regulating fees," is added after clause (n) and defined as fees charged on minor minerals entering Maharashtra from other states.
•A new rule, Rule 78-B, is inserted immediately after Rule 78-A into the principal rules.
•Rule 78-B establishes a regulating fee of ₹100 per metric ton on all minor minerals entering Maharashtra from other states.
