The Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh on August 05, 2026, notified regarding the Appointment of Deputy Commissioners as Registrars of Societies in Union Territory of Ladakh
Under powers granted by the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (as adapted to the Union Territory of Ladakh via the 2020 Reorganisation Order), the Ladakh UT Administration has appointed the Deputy Commissioners of all Ladakh districts as Registrars of Societies, each within their own district's jurisdiction.
These Registrars will exercise all powers and duties under the Act and must follow the procedural checklist set out in Annexure-A of the notification. The notification takes effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
