Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Goa, Department of Finance (Revenue and Control Division) has directed the closure of all licensed premises for the sale of liquor in Ward No. I of Village Panchayat Chinchinim Deussua, Salcete, South Goa, on August 15, 16 and 17, 2026, in view of the polling day and counting of votes for the bye-election to a vacant ward.

Licensed Bar and Restaurant premises may keep the restaurant portion open for serving food; however, the bar counter must remain closed and no liquor may be served on the specified days. The owners are also required to prominently display a board stating that liquor will not be served and that only the restaurant is open for food service.

The direction has been issued under sub-rule (4) of Rule 99 of the Goa Excise Duty Rules, 1964, in the public interest, and applies specifically to the area falling under the jurisdiction of the concerned ward.
