The Ministry of Communications (MoC) on August 14, 2026, issued the Post Office (Seventh Amendment) Regulations, 2026, to further amend the Post Office Act, 2023.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Regulation 51 which states “Items addressed to deceased persons” has been substituted namely: -
“Item addressed to a deceased person shall be returned to the sender, where the particulars of the sender are available on item, or where such particulars are not available, the item shall be disposed of in accordance with the provisions of sub-regulation (3) of regulation 65”
This shall come into force on August 17, 2026.
