The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on August 18, 2026, has notified regulated entities of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) amendments to four entries in the 1267/1989 ISIL (Da’esh) & Al-Qaida Sanctions List under Section 51A of the UAPA, 1967.
The following has been stated:
The amendments relate to three individuals and one entity included in the UNSC sanctions list, which are subject to measures including asset freeze, travel ban and arms embargo.
Regulated entities are required to update their records and ensure compliance with the revised UNSC sanctions list in accordance with the RBI KYC Directions, 2025 and the UAPA Order dated February 2, 2021, as amended.
Any request for de-listing received by a bank is required to be forwarded electronically to the Joint Secretary (CTCR), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), in accordance with the applicable instructions.
