Industry Specific ComplianceThe Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on August 18, 2026, has informed regulated entities about the amendments to four entries in the UNSC’s 1267/1989 ISIL (Da’esh) & Al-Qaida Sanctions List pursuant to Section 51A of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (UAPA).

The following has been stated:

The UNSC has amended the details of three individuals and one entity on its ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List, which are subject to asset freeze, travel ban, and arms embargo measures.

Regulated entities are required to ensure compliance with the updated sanctions list and follow the prescribed procedure under the UAPA Order dated February 2, 2021, as amended.

Banks and other regulated entities are advised to ensure that they do not maintain accounts in the name of persons or entities appearing on the updated sanctions lists and to take appropriate action in accordance with the RBI’s KYC Directions.
