Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Tamil Nadu on July 16, 2026, issued fixation of Wholesale Issue Price to the PDS Retail Points/ Retailers and Revision of Retail.

The Director of Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department, Tamil Nadu, revised the wholesale issue price and retail selling price of domestic PDS kerosene, pursuant to the revision of the 5% GST component on the wholesale dealer’s commission and transport margin, as ordered under G.O. Ms. No. 41, Co-operation, Food and Consumer Protection (C2) Department, dated June 10, 2026. The revision is made under the Tamil Nadu Kerosene (Regulation of Trade) Order, 1973, read with Section 3(2) of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.

For the specified wholesalers in Chennai City and Belt Area, the revised wholesale issue price is ₹2,922.71 per 200-litre barrel, compared with the existing ₹2,907.13. The revised retail selling price for domestic kerosene is ₹15.00 per litre for transport distances up to 8 km and up to 10 km, and ₹15.10 per litre for distances above 10 km.

Accordingly, wholesale dealers are required to issue kerosene to PDS retail outlets, retailers and holders of special permits at the revised wholesale issue price, while PDS outlets operated by the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation, co-operatives, private societies and other retailers must sell kerosene to cardholders at the applicable revised retail selling price.
