RBI Monetary Policy Committee Retains 5.25% Repo Rate

Industry Specific ComplianceThe RBI published the minutes of the 62nd Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting held from August 3 to 5, 2026, chaired by Governor Shri Sanjay Malhotra. After reviewing the evolving global and domestic economic conditions, macroeconomic projections, financial developments, and risks to the outlook, the MPC unanimously decided to keep the policy repo rate unchanged at 5.25%. Consequently, the SDF rate remains at 5.00%, while the MSF rate and Bank Rate remain at 5.50%. The MPC also decided to continue with a neutral monetary policy stance, indicating that the RBI will maintain its existing policy settings while assessing developments in inflation, growth, and financial conditions.
