The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), on August 21, 2026, notified that sub-section (7) of Section 3 of the Telecommunications Act, 2023 shall come into force with effect from August 21, 2026. The notification has been issued under Section 1(3) of the Act.
Accordingly, Section 3(7) of the Telecommunications Act, 2023 is now operational from the notified date. The notification specifically brings the said statutory provision into force without making any other amendment to the Act.
The provision shall therefore be applicable from August 21, 2026, and stakeholders covered by its scope are required to comply with the requirements of Section 3(7) from that date.
