Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Tamil Nadu, on July 16, 2026, issued a notification providing a one-time exemption from Rule 21 of the Tamil Nadu Liquor (Licence and Permit) Rules, 1981 for FL3/FL3AA licence holders who failed to remit the renewal fee for 2026–2027 by the prescribed deadline of March 31, 2026.

The exemption permits eligible licence holders who are willing to pay the renewal fee to renew their licences for 2026–2027, subject to payment of an additional fee equivalent to 50% of the prescribed licence fee. The notification is issued under Section 54 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937 read with Rule 54 of the Tamil Nadu Liquor (Licence and Permit) Rules, 1981.

The additional fee was required to be paid on or before July 31, 2026, as specified in the notification. This is a one-time measure specifically applicable to FL3/FL3AA licence holders who had not paid the renewal fee within the original timeline.
