The Department of Economics & Statistics, Kerala on August 19, 2026, issued the Consumer Price Index Numbers for Agricultural Labourers and Industrial Workers for the Month of July 2026.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Kerala’s Consumer Price Index (Cost of Living Index) for Agricultural Labourers and Industrial Workers has been released for July 2026, compared with June 2026.
• Among the 17 centres, Kasargod recorded the highest July 2026 index at 241 (2011-12=100), followed by Pathanamthitta at 240.
• Palakkad recorded the lowest July 2026 index at 213, followed by Punalur at 219 and Kollam at 221.
• The largest month-on-month rise was in Pathanamthitta (+2 points) and Idukki (+3 points), while several centres, including Mundakayam, Chalakkuddy and Thrissur, remained unchanged.
• These CPI figures are the Cost of Living Index numbers applicable to employees covered under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, and are used for determining/adjusting wage-related benefits. The indices are based on 2011-12=100, with approved linking factors used to derive the 1998-99=100 series.
