The Government of Karnataka on August 11, 2026, issued the notification regarding an internal complaint committee formed in all government and private organizations with more than 10 employees.
The following has been stated namely: -
• All government and private organizations with more than 10 employees must constitute an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to prevent and address sexual harassment of women at the workplace.
• Of around 81,000 eligible organizations in the state, about 26,000 have constituted ICCs and registered their details on the SHE-Box portal.
• Karnataka currently ranks first in the country in the number of ICCs formed and registered on the SHE-Box portal.
• District Magistrates, as District Nodal Officers, must ensure ICCs are constituted in the remaining 55,000 organizations and their details are uploaded on the SHE-Box portal.
• District Magistrates must follow up and complete the exercise within one month, and submit a comprehensive action-taken report to the concerned office.
