The Home Department on August 28, 2026, issued the Delhi Fire Service (Amendment) Rules, 2026 to further amend the Delhi Fire Service Rules, 2010.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In the Delhi Fire Service (Amendment) Rules, 2025, rule 2(viii) shall be omitted.
• In the Delhi Fire Service (Amendment) Rules, 2025, “National Building Code of India” shall be omitted from rule 2(xiii).
• In the Delhi Fire Service (Amendment) Rules, 2025, rule 2(ix) shall be renumbered as rule 2(viii) and rule2 (xiii) shall be renumbered as rule 2(xii).
• In the Delhi Fire Service Rules, 2010 (hereinafter referred to as the Principal Rules), rule 2(x) to rule 2(xii) shall be renumbered as rule 2(ix)to rule 2(xi) in sequence.
• In the Delhi Fire Service (Amendment) Rules, 2025, “National Building Code of India” shall be substituted with “Building Bye – Laws” in rule 29.
