The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) on August 27, 2026, issued a notification regarding exemption to Povidone Iodine Throat Spray from DPCO, 2013.
The following has been stated: -
•The NPPA has exempted “Povidone Iodine Throat Spray 0.45% w/v” of M/s G.S. Pharmbutor Pvt. Ltd. from DPCO, 2013 under Para 32(iii).
•The exemption is granted for five years from 17 December 2024, the date of its marketing approval by CDSCO.
•The company must inform NPPA of the Price to Retailer (PTR) and Maximum Retail Price (MRP) through Form V.
•It must also seek retail price approval, as applicable, three months before expiry of the exemption.
