The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of Rajasthan on August 20, 2026, issued the Rajasthan Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2026, further to amend the Rajasthan Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2018.
The existing second proviso to sub-rule (1) of rule 5 shall be substituted by the following, namely:- "Provided further that the reservation in promotion, with effect from 30.06.2016, shall be in accordance with such instructions as may be issued by the State Government, from time to time. The promotional benefits under this provision shall be granted on a notional basis from 30.06.2016 up to the date of commencement of the Rajasthan Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2026. Any person who was promoted before the commencement of the Rajasthan Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2026, shall not be reverted on account of the promotion of a person with disability from an earlier year. In case wherethe number of persons promoted exceeds the number of sanctioned posts, the administrative department may create a shadow post with the concurrence of the Finance Department."
