Labour ComplianceThe Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) on August 28, 2026, notified regarding the charge structure applicable to PoPs for All Schemes under NPS and NPS Lite.

The following has been stated:

• It has revised the charge structure applicable to Points of Presence (PoPs) for all schemes under NPS and NPS Lite, effective October 1, 2026, under Regulation 16 of the PFRDA (Point of Presence) Regulations, 2018. PoPs may charge a one-time onboarding fee of ₹200 per PRAN and an annual charge of 0.20% p.a. of AUM, adjusted through NAV and payable quarterly, except for dormant accounts. For fully digital, non-face-to-face onboarding, a reduced onboarding charge of ₹100 may be applicable as determined by PFRDA.

• The minimum contribution is fixed at ₹250 at onboarding and ₹10 for subsequent contributions. Subscribers onboarded through e-NPS and subsequently contributing through e-NPS or D-Remit will not pay PoP charges, whereas those onboarded through a PoP will remain liable for the prescribed charges even when subsequent contributions are made through e-NPS or D-Remit. PoPs must prominently display the revised charges on their websites and during digital onboarding.

• The revised structure supersedes the earlier March 10, 2026 circular and will be implemented by Central Recordkeeping Agencies from Q3 of FY 2026-27.
