The Government of Rajasthan, on August 27, 2026, issued an amended notification in relation to the dates of voting for the elections to 309 municipal bodies in Rajasthan. The amendment has been issued pursuant to communications from the State Election Commission, Rajasthan, dated August 19 and August 25, 2026, concerning the election schedule.
The notification provides for a change in the relevant holiday arrangement in view of the revised election programme. The voting dates referred to in the notification are September 9, 2026 (Wednesday) and September 11, 2026 (Friday), with the amendment being made to facilitate voting by eligible persons in the concerned areas.
The notification is addressed to various government authorities and stakeholders, including the Chief Secretary, Finance Department, State Election Commission, district authorities, banks and other concerned institutions. It is therefore relevant primarily as an election-related holiday/public-office notification for Rajasthan, rather than a general labour or commercial compliance requirement.
