The Government of Sikkim on August 29, 2026, issued a notification regarding Digitalisation and Simplification of Tourism Services.
The following has been stated: -
•Effective September 01, 2026, applications for registration of Hotels, Resorts, B&Bs, Service Apartments, Holiday Homes, Homestays and Restaurants shall be submitted and processed online through the SSO Portal, with the Bank Receipt System discontinued.
•For Travel Agents, Adventure Tour Operators, Outdoor Photographers, Tourist Guides, Cooks and other services not yet available online, physical applications may continue, but SBS Bank payments will be replaced by QR-code payments, with QR receipts as the sole proof of payment.
•All concerned DTOs and TICs are directed to ensure compliance and facilitate the transition to digital payments and online service delivery for ease of doing business.
