The Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM), in its 138th Enforcement Task Force (ETF) meeting held on August 31, 2026, reviewed enforcement actions, inspections and compliance status across the National Capital Region (NCR) for the period from August 8, 2026 to August 23, 2026.
The following has been stated:
During the 16-day reporting period, the Commission's Flying Squads conducted 121 inspections across key sectors, including Construction & Demolition (C&D) sites, industrial units and Diesel Generator (DG) sets. Based on reported violations, closure of 4 projects/industries, sealing of 17 DG sets, issuance of 7 compliance directions and Environmental Compensation in 5 cases have been proposed.
The ETF also reviewed compliance with decisions taken during its previous meeting and noted that all actionable cases relating to the Industrial Sector, C&D Sector and DG sets had been acted upon. Additionally, 9 resumption orders were issued after verification of compliance, including 2 industrial units and 7 C&D projects.
As of August 31, 2026, CAQM Flying Squads had conducted inspections at a cumulative 28,397 units, projects and entities across NCR. A total of 1,823 Closure Directions have been issued, of which 1,473 entities have subsequently received Resumption Orders after compliance verification.
The Commission reiterated the need for strengthened enforcement, timely compliance verification, improved coordination among implementing agencies and continued inspections across priority sectors to effectively mitigate air pollution in the NCR.
