The Government of Karnataka on August 24, 2026, issued the Bengaluru Metropolitan Land Transport Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2026, to amend the Bengaluru Metropolitan Land Transport Authority Act, 2022.
The following has been stated: -
•The Act amends Section 19 of the Bengaluru Metropolitan Land Transport Authority Act, 2022.
•Projects initiated between the commencement of the 2022 Act and notification of the Bengaluru Metropolitan Land Transport Authority Rules, 2026 will be deemed to have been undertaken under the amended Act.
•Accordingly, decisions taken, plans prepared, operations undertaken and proceedings pending for such projects are legally validated and continued under the Act.
