The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), on September 02, 2026, released the provisional data on foreign exchange inflows received through FCNR(B) Deposits, External Commercial Borrowings (ECBs), and Overseas Foreign Currency Borrowings (OFCBs) under its special USD-INR Forex Swap facility.
The following has been stated:
The RBI had introduced the special USD-INR Forex Swap facility on June 08, 2026, covering inflows through FCNR(B) deposits, ECBs and OFCBs. The facility remained open until August 31, 2026, for FCNR(B) deposits and will remain available until December 31, 2026, for ECBs and OFCBs.
Based on provisional reporting by Authorised Dealer Banks up to August 31, 2026, the total forex inflows under the facility amounted to USD 136,377 million. This included USD 127,226 million through FCNR(B) Deposits, USD 5,260 million through OFCBs, and USD 3,891 million through ECBs.
The figures are provisional and remain subject to final reporting, accounting, and reconciliation.
