Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Tripura on September 02, 2026, issued a notification regarding the transfer of Sand Mining Activities from the Forest Department to Industries & Commerce Department.

The following has been stated: -

•The Government of Tripura has transferred the regulation, management and administration of sand mining activities from the Forest Department to the Department of Industries & Commerce with effect from September 01, 2026. 

•All applications, permissions, mining-plan approvals, leases and related matters will now be handled by the Industries & Commerce Department/Directorate. 

•The Forest Department will no longer be the competent authority for sand-mining approvals, except for matters within its statutory jurisdiction. 

•All existing and prospective sand-mining operators are required to approach the Industries & Commerce Department for further matters.
