The Government of Manipur on September 02, 2026, issued the Manipur Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland (Conversion of Paddy Land for Construction of Residential Building and Fees) (Amendment) Rules, 2026 to further amend the Manipur Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland (Conversion of Paddy Land for Construction of Residential Building and Fees) Rules, 2021.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In the Manipur Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland (Conversion of Paddy Land for Construction of Residential Building and Fees) Rules, 2021, in rule 3, for sub-rule (3), the following shall be substituted, namely: -
“(3) The Deputy Commissioner shall ensure that conversion fee at the fixed rate of Rs. 250/- (Rupees two hundred and fifty) per square meter for rural areas and Rs. 500/- (Rupees five hundred) per square meter for urban areas is deposited by the applicant into the Government account before conversion of the paddy land.”.
They shall come into force from September 2, 2026.
