Industry Specific ComplianceThe National Dental Commission (NDC) on September 01, 2026, issued a circular regarding the mandatory 80% attendance requirement for MDS Students appearing in Final Examination.

The following has been stated: -

•All Dental Colleges/Institutions offering MDS programmes must ensure a minimum 80% attendance as an essential eligibility condition for appearing in the final examination.

•Students with attendance below 80% must not be permitted, recommended or certified to appear for the examination, and attendance records must be properly maintained and authenticated.

•Institutions issuing incorrect eligibility certification may face regulatory action under the National Dental Commission Act and applicable regulations.

•Affiliating Universities are also directed not to accept examination forms of MDS students having less than 80% attendance.
