The Department of Housing & Urban Development, Govt. of Punjab on September 01, 2026, notified the utilisation of EDC for Infrastructure Development under the Industrial and Business Development Policy, 2026.
Pursuant to the Punjab Industrial and Business Development Policy, 2026, notified on March 8, 2026, the Punjab Government has notified that 100% of the External Development Charges (EDC) collected from industries established under Clauses 5.2.8 and 5.2.9 of Chapter 5 shall be utilised for development of infrastructure for the concerned industrial unit or cluster. The EDC funds may be used for infrastructure such as roads, power lines/transformers, water supply and sewerage, as applicable.
