Industry Specific ComplianceThe Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on September 02, 2026, notified the Relief Measures in Areas Affected by Natural Calamities - Reporting through Centralised Information Management System (CIMS) Portal - Introduction of Half-yearly Return.

The following has been stated:

• The RBI has revised the regulatory framework for relief measures extended by Regulated Entities (REs) in areas affected by natural calamities through the Amendment Directions on Resolution of Stressed Assets dated April 29, 2026, effective from July 1, 2026. REs are now required to submit details of such relief measures half-yearly through the CIMS portal in the revised reporting format. 

• The return shall be filed within 30 days from the end of each half-year, i.e., by October 30 for the period ending September 30 and by April 30 for the period ending March 31. REs shall ensure that the information is accurate, complete, and duly validated. The existing monthly return applicable to Scheduled Commercial Banks (including SFBs but excluding RRBs) has been discontinued from July 1, 2026. 

• The revised framework applies across Commercial Banks, SFBs, RRBs, Cooperative Banks, Local Area Banks, NBFCs and All India Financial Institutions.
