Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Himachal Pradesh on September 01, 2026, issued the Shimla Road Users and Pedestrians (Public Safety and Convenience) Amendment Bill, 2026, to further amend the Shimla Road Users and Pedestrians (Public Safety and Convenience) Act, 2007.

This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on July 30, 2026. 

The following has been amended, namely:

• In section 6 (3), the words, signs and figures “A fee of Rs. 15,000/- shall be charged for grant of a pass for a private vehicle per road, per annum;”, shall be substituted with the words, signs and figures “A fee of Rs. 4,500/- for a period of six months or Rs. 8,000/- per annum shall be charged for the grant of a pass for a private vehicle, per road:” 

• In section 7 (3), the words, signs and figures “A fee of Rs. 5,000/- shall be charged for grant of a pass for a private vehicle per road, per annum;”, shall be substituted with the words, signs and figures “A fee of Rs. 2000/- for a period of six months or Rs. 3,000/-per annum shall be charged for the grant of a pass for a private vehicle, per road:”
