The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on August 19, 2026, notified the cancellation and withdrawal of specified Indian Standards under Rule 15(1) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018. The standards listed in the notification were withdrawn with effect from August 17, 2026.
The withdrawn standards cover various specifications relating to electronic measuring and testing equipment, radio-frequency and audio-frequency signal generators, cathode-ray oscilloscopes, electronic measuring apparatus, colour television receivers, high-frequency transreceivers, ferrite components for CTVs, and link and test connectors. The notification covers 12 Indian Standards, including IS 2321:1963, IS 3437:1972, IS 3886:1966, IS 3915:1966, IS 4330:1967, IS 8316:1977, IS 9858:1981, IS 10662:1992, IS 13409:1992, IS 13901 (Part 2):1993, and IS 13984 (Parts 1 and 2/Sec 1).
Accordingly, the above standards stand cancelled and withdrawn from the notified withdrawal date. Organisations relying on these standards should review their applicable specifications, technical documentation and compliance references to determine whether any replacement or updated BIS standard is applicable.
