Secretarial ComplianceThe Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on September 08, 2026, issued a notification regarding Implementation of Section 51A of UAPA, 1967: Updates to UNSC’s 1267/ 1989 ISIL (Da'esh) &  Al-Qaida  Sanctions  List:  Amendment of  2  Entries;  Updates to  UNSC’s  1988  (2011) Taliban Sanctions List: Amendment of 01 Entry. 

The following has been stated: -

•SEBI has informed stock exchanges, depositories, KRAs and registered intermediaries about amendments to the UNSC sanctions lists under Section 51A of the UAPA, 1967. 

•The UNSC has amended entries relating to individuals associated with ISIL (Da’esh), Al-Qaida and the Taliban. 

•Regulated entities must ensure that they do not maintain accounts of individuals or entities appearing on the updated sanctions lists. 

•Any delisting request received by a regulated entity must be forwarded to the Ministry of Home Affairs for consideration. 

•All concerned entities are advised to take note of the amendments and ensure necessary compliance.
