The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) on September 09, 2026, issued a notification regarding Non-Compliance by HSPCB with CAQM Directions on Remote Monitoring of C&D Sites.
The following has been stated: -
•CAQM reviewed HSPCB’s compliance with directions requiring registration of C&D projects of 500 sq. metres or more and functional web-camera systems for remote monitoring.
•Remote monitoring found that most camera links across C&D sites in Panipat, Sonipat, Faridabad and Gurugram were non-functional, despite repeated directions to HSPCB.
•CAQM treated the continued non-compliance as willful non-compliance and sought an explanation and detailed compliance status from HSPCB.
•HSPCB was directed to take corrective measures, including closure of non-compliant sites, and strengthen monitoring and enforcement mechanisms.
•CAQM reiterated that strict and timely implementation of its directions is essential for effective dust control and prevention of air pollution in the NCR.
