The Government of Uttar Pradesh, on August 13, 2026, notified the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code (Amendment) Act, 2026, further to amend the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code, 2006.
The following has been stated: -
•Section 80(8) is amended to deem certain building/development permissions or layout approvals as a declaration under Section 80(2), subject to prescribed inquiry.
•The amendment applies to land within notified areas of Development Authorities, Industrial Development Authorities, Regulated Areas, Special Area Development Authorities or U.P. Housing and Development Board.
•The corresponding entry must be recorded in revenue records within 15 days.No fee shall be charged for the declaration under Section 80(2).
•The U.P. Revenue Code (Amendment) Ordinance, 2026 (U.P. Ordinance No. 6 of 2026) and Fourth Amendment Ordinance, 2026 (U.P. Ordinance No. 14 of 2026) are repealed, with actions already taken saved.
•It shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from April 08, 2026.
