The Government of Bihar on September 15, 2026, issued the Bihar Agricultural University (Amendment) Act, 2025 to further amend the Bihar Agricultural University Act, 2010.
The following amendments have been stated:
• Amendment in Section 7 of Bihar Act 12, 2010.—
o Sub section (11) of section 7 of the said Act shall be Substituted by the following:-
“The University shall create teaching, research and extension education and other related posts with the prior approval of the State Government and shall send the requisition for appointment to these posts to Bihar Public Service Commission or any other Commission authorized by the State Government through the Agriculture Department, Government of Bihar.”
o Sub section (12) of section 7 of the said Act shall be Substituted by the following:-
“In addition to the posts mentioned in sub-section-11 of section-7 of the Act, any technical and non-gazetted posts shall be created by the University with the prior approval of the State Government and the requisition for appointment to these posts shall be sent through the Agriculture Department, Government of Bihar to Bihar Public Service Commission/Bihar Technical Service Commission/Bihar Staff Selection Commission or any other commission authorized by the State Government.”
It shall come into force from such date as may be appointed by the Government by notification in the Official Gazette.
