Industry Specific ComplianceThe National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), on September 9, 2026, has introduced the Three-Party Cash Deposit (3P Cash Deposit) service through the Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS). The service enables a third-party depositor to deposit cash into an account held with a participating beneficiary bank through an AePS Touchpoint Operator (ATO) or other regulator-approved AePS channels of a participating acquiring bank.

Under the process, the Participating Acquiring Bank must undertake e-KYC of the depositor and comply with the prescribed depositor limits before accepting cash. The Participating Beneficiary Bank must validate the beneficiary account and ensure that the transaction complies with the applicable beneficiary limits. Following successful OTP verification of the depositor, the acquiring bank initiates the Cash Deposit Advice request, after which the beneficiary bank processes and credits the amount to the beneficiary account.

The depositor limits are ₹10,000 per transaction, ₹50,000 aggregate per day and ₹2,00,000 aggregate per month. The beneficiary account has an aggregate monthly limit of ₹2,00,000 for deposits through the Service. Beneficiary banks must include transactions under this Service when monitoring overall cash-deposit limits applicable to the account. Participating Member Banks have been advised to implement the Service with immediate effect.
