Industry Specific ComplianceThe Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on September 16, 2026, issued revision in Timeline for Issuance of PSIC and One-time Relaxation for Issuance of Backlog PSICs.

DGFT has provided a one-time seven-day transitional relaxation to recognized Pre-Shipment Inspection Agencies (PSIAs) for issuing pending Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificates (PSICs) relating to inspections conducted before August 25, 2026, where issuance was delayed due to system restrictions introduced under Trade Notice No. 22/2026-27.

The timeline for PSIC issuance has also been revised. PSICs must now be generated and issued within 2 days from the date of inspection, and the system will permit issuance only within this prescribed period. Further, PSIC uploading must be carried out from the same geographical location/country where the inspection was conducted. All other provisions of the earlier Trade Notice remain unchanged.
