The Ministry Of Coal (MoC) on September 09, 2026, issued the Coal Blocks Allocation (Second Amendment) Rules, 2026 to further amend the Coal Blocks Allocation Rules, 2017.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In the Coal Blocks Allocation Rules, 2017, after rule 17, the following rule shall be inserted, namely:—
“18. Penalty.— Whoever contravenes the provisions of these rules shall be liable to penalty as per the provisions of section 25A and 25B of the Act and the rules made thereunder, that is, the Mines and Minerals Adjudication of Penalties Rules, 2026 ”.
