The Department of Social Welfare, Govt. of Delhi on September 17, 2026, issued the Vayo Anand Scheme.
This Scheme will come into force on September 18, 2026.
The following has been stated:
• The “Vayo Anand” Scheme provides financial assistance to eligible Senior Citizen Welfare Organisations/Recreation Centres registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The scheme aims to maintain community-based recreation centres and provide senior citizens aged 60 years and above with facilities for relaxation and social activities, thereby promoting their social and neighbourhood integration.
• Eligible centres shall be located in Delhi, function from a community space, have at least 200 senior citizen members, and receive a recommendation from the area MLA. Each eligible centre may receive ₹2,40,000 per financial year (₹20,000 per month) in two half-yearly instalments, subject to inspection and submission/verification of Utilization Certificates.
• Centres shall conduct activities such as yoga and meditation, national/religious festivals, tree plantation, counselling and at least 5–6 events annually. Annual inspection by the District Social Welfare Officer, maintenance of a separate bank account, a five-member Management Committee and submission of prescribed documents are mandatory.
• Discrepancies may result in withholding of assistance and blacklisting for at least one financial year.
