The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), on September 14, 2026, has issued an advisory to Central Government PrAOs, PAOs, DDOs and CAB offices regarding mandatory capture of the Transaction ID (TID) while remitting National Pension System (NPS) contributions to the Trustee Bank. The measure is intended to reduce settlement timelines and facilitate earlier cut-off times for same-day investment for subscribers.
PFRDA has observed that a significant proportion of Government-sector NPS remittances remain unmatched at the Trustee Bank because the TID is unavailable, omitted or incorrectly captured in the remittance message. Around 75–80% of Government remittances reportedly require manual intervention for identification and matching. The TID establishes the linkage between the remittance initiated by the Government Nodal Office and the corresponding contribution information, enabling the Trustee Bank to identify and reconcile transactions more efficiently.
Accordingly, all Nodal Offices are advised to ensure that their respective remitting banks mandatorily capture the correct TID in the “Sender to Receiver Information” field while making NPS contribution remittances to the Trustee Bank. Accurate TID capture is expected to reduce unmatched transactions, facilitate Fund Receipt Confirmation (FRC) upload, and reduce overall NPS contribution processing and settlement timelines.
